Alice Damiens - Romie Objetti

Alice Damiens - Romie Objetti

Born in the North of France in the early 1990s,
Alice Damiens grew up in the heart of a workshop, lulled by the scent of wood. The daughter of a cabinetmaker, she developed an intimate connection with materials and creation from an early age. After a decade as a ready-to-wear and accessories stylist in Paris, she chose to return to her manual and artistic roots. She then trained with her father in wood carving, reconnecting with a family know-how that she appropriates with a contemporary sensibility. In 2020, Romie Objetti emerged, a personal and unique project at the intersection of design, art objects, and sculpture.

Born in the North of France in the early 1990s, Alice Damiens grew up in the heart of a workshop, lulled by the scent of wood. The daughter of a cabinetmaker, she developed an intimate connection with materials and creation from childhood. After a decade as a ready-to-wear and accessories stylist in Paris, she chose to return to her manual and artistic roots. She then trained with her father in wood carving, reconnecting with a family know-how that she appropriates with a contemporary sensibility. It was in 2020 that Romie Objetti emerged, a personal and singular project at the crossroads of design, art object, and sculpture. The name “Objetti” reflects the desire to break away from usual classifications. Neither purely functional nor strictly decorative, the Objetti navigate between jewelry, furniture, and sculptural objects, in an organic and free universe. Each piece is handmade, using wood species from the stock patiently gathered by her father in their family workshop. Alice Damiens' work is an ode to living matter, to curves, volume, and the poetry of everyday life. Through Romie Objetti, Alice Damiens offers a sensitive and assertive sculptural language, where each form seems born from a balance between memory, intuition, and freedom. Recently presented at the Salon Révélations at the Grand Palais, her work also gives rise to regular collaborations with fashion brands and architects, in a spirit of custom creation and dialogue between disciplines.
