Margaux Leycuras was born in 1989. She lives and works between Bordeaux and California. Graduated from the Ecole Nationale d'Architecture de Nantes, Margaux worked for years in an architectural agency. She approaches ceramics as an extension and complement to her architectural practice: space is a sensory experience and clay is one of her means of expression. Her practice is a search for balance between form and function, an enhancement by light, a harmony of form and textures of the Earth material. Margaux is also influenced by the spiritual and aesthetic precepts of wabi-sabi, the beauty of imperfection and impermanence, the search for elegance in sobriety. These creations are thus of great sensitivity, natural, organic forms while being delicate and minimalist. The Eclipses light sculpture collections were born from this exploration of the primary matter of the Earth and its limits, they offer a sensory, tactile, luminous and sensitive experience.
