Michela D'Angelo - MiDA-lab

Michela D'Angelo is an artist and designer born in Rome in 1991. After studying design in Spain, she trained for five years in the Netherlands with the artist Nacho Carbonell. In 2021, she founded the MiDA-lab project and set up her studio in Eindhoven, in the Sectie-C art district. Her practice, at the intersection of art, craft, and design, explores the expressive potential of materials: clay, glass, rattan, recycled plastics, textiles, and bronze. Nourished by collaborations with artists of diverse nationalities, she composes a visual language where materials converse with one another, like so many unique personalities. Her sculptural works, both sensitive and hybrid, evoke a world suspended between the human, the animal, the plant, and the mineral. MiDA-lab thus becomes for Michela a poetic playground where organic, fluid forms, deeply connected to life, are born.
