Silvia de Marchi
Silvia De Marchi is a painter born in 1967, who lives and works in Arosio, a small town in northern Italy. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Como, she first specialized in the restoration of paintings on canvas and wood, then in frescoes and stone materials at the Botticino-Brescia Regional School. Her practice was born from the encounter between classical art and modern art, finding inspiration in the past, materiality, but also in nature and literature. Her works are distinguished by their poetry, questioning themes such as the unfinished, the trace, the ruin, the fragility, but also the strength, the resistance of matter in the face of time. Through her art, she transforms personal experiences into a universal artistic language.
