Gregory Morizeau
Grégory Morizeau is a French artist born in Le Mans in 1970. He currently lives and works in Malakoff.
While everything predestined him to become a professional athlete, Gregory felt an irrepressible need to create with his hands and bring his ideas to life. First, there was the creation of notebooks where notes, words and sketches were instinctively thrown together in a battle. Then came the welded iron sculpture. For several years, his creation has been based on the technique of engraving, sliding towards a form of abstraction with a reduced chromatic palette. Using tools that he made and recovered, Gregory tested and covered the material of his inked figures, silent witnesses of the gesture, imposing a work of patience dominated by repetition, erasure and trace. His monotypes are witnesses to his quest for meaning, the figures fade until exhaustion, giving body to time.
