Helen Booth
Helen Booth, was born in Burton, England in 1967. A graduate of the Wimbledon School of Art, her artistic career was marked by a residency at the Hafnarborg Arts and Culture Centre in Iceland. Her work has earned her prestigious awards: the Pollock Krasner Foundation and the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation have honoured her. Helen Booth uses a reduced colour palette of white, black and shades of grey, giving life to poetic and minimalist canvases. Her inspiration comes from her experience of the monochrome and extreme landscapes of Iceland. She engages her whole "being" in her creative process, like a cosmic connection, a connection to the "atomic universe" where matter seems to merge into a larger reality. Her works, like falling snow, captivate the eye, like so many invitations to contemplation.
