Bad Apples, by Eska Marsh

Born in Bristol in 1994, Eska Marsh grew up surrounded by images and textures, fascinated by how the everyday can be transformed into art. From a young age, she developed a sensitive connection with the forms and objects around her, interested in both their presence and their essence. After studying Contemporary Craft at Falmouth University, which she completed in 2015, she chose to dedicate herself to printmaking, exploring the use of tools such as drypoint and carborundum to give form to her visions. Her monochrome prints transform the simplest objects into true subjects, where light, matter, and gesture tell a story that is both intimate and universal. Drawing inspiration from post-war modernism, still lifes, and American folk art, Eska creates compositions where abstraction and the everyday interact in a dialogue between rigor and spontaneity. Her works have been exhibited in galleries and private collections internationally, with recent participation in the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition and the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair. Through her engravings and prints, Eska Marsh offers a poetic and narrative visual language, where each form seems to emerge from a balance between memory, intuition, and perception of the modern world.
