Zachary Nestel-Patt is an American designer, artist, and musician. Influenced by his background in jazz, classical music, and the indie rock scene, he develops an intuitive approach to creation, guided by experimentation, spontaneity, and a certain freedom of gesture. In 2024, he founded Ah Um Design Studio in Los Angeles. He designs handcrafted furniture where function meets artistic expression. Benches, stools, tables, and mirrors bear the visible imprint of their creation, celebrating irregularities, wear, and the marks of time. Zachary advocates for a vision of furniture far removed from standards of perfection, instead prioritizing what he calls an "emotional texture": the memory of objects, shaped by the hand that creates them and by those who live with them. Blending design and sculpture, minimalist aesthetics and character, the Jura collection invites us to develop a lasting and sensitive relationship with everyday objects. In just a few years, Zachary's work has been noticed by publications such as Architectural Digest, Wallpaper, and Dwell, confirming the emergence of a unique voice in the contemporary design landscape.
