Appaloosa Pitcher

Amélie Patry is a self-taught ceramist born in 1992 who lives and works in the Pays de Loire region. After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Angers, she truly turned to ceramics in 2019. It is in nature that she collects clays, rocks, and plants to model and glaze her ceramics. Nature is the pretext for seeking out raw materials, ceramics a pretext for long, regenerating and poetic walks. She mixes territories and landscapes; she surveys, she gleans, she assembles the materials of her wanderings in the Loire or the mountains. She transforms, she rehydrates, she pound, grinds, and burns all her finds. An infinite game of experimentation and chance. Each modeled object is made up of a small, intimate geography, a witness to places explored, inspired by nature. Each firing is a surprise. The raw materials express themselves, the rocks stand out to give each of his pieces a free and spontaneous, textured and vibrant appearance.
